David
Holzman, DAVEY'S creator, has a Master's Degree in Elementary Education
and Creative Arts in Learning. He began his acting, juggling and
unicycling career in the 1980's. While attending the Dell'Arte School
of Physical Theater, in 1985 & '86, David created the star of
his one-man show: the hapless DAVEY THE CLOWN. Since then, DAVEY
has been seen at the Festival für Straßenkultur in Nordhorn,
Germany, the San Francisco New Vaudeville Festival, the South Shore
and Cape Cod Melody Tents, the Museum of our National Heritage,
in Lexington, and at First Nights in Boston and throughout New England.
He has performed at functions for Gillette, Putnam Investments,
and Boston Beer, (to name a few). He has been seen at schools and
preschools throughout the Northeast, at Faneuil Hall Marketplace,
and on a national telecast of the New England Patriots. Davey has
performed in Cameroon, on the African continent.
David Holzman continues to perform as other characters, besides
DAVEY THE CLOWN. In 1989, he toured with the Geese Theater Company,
performing in maximum security prisons throughout the United States.
Since escaping (from the Geese, not prison), he has toured nationwide
in the hit school assembly program about nutrition: FOODPLAY.
Since 1998, David has been studying accordian at the Paul Monte
Music Studio in Wellesley, MA.
David teaches workshops in juggling, clowning, and creativity. He
has twenty years of performing and teaching experience. |
